It's that time of year again when we all deserve a break! Here is our Christmas order deadline:

The last order day for guaranteed next day delivery is Thursday 22nd December.Your order will arrive on Friday 23rd December. Standard charges apply.

Orders placed after this time will be dispatched when we return in the new year on 3rd January 2012.

Again, we will be donating money to Great Ormond Street Hospital instead of sending Christmas cards.

Alluguard - Our New Supplier.....

Alluguard are to become SWR newest garage door manufacturer of choice for roller shutters. Alluguard are actually a new division of a long time, well known customers of ours.....JB Doors.

A working Alluguard roller shutter is due to be fitted in our showroom, in place of the decograin roller shutter, within two weeks.

Hopefully this new arrangement will only strengthen our existing relationship and we look forward to dealing with them more regularly in the future.

Interbuild 2010 to feature new product zones

This years' Interbuild Onsite will feature six specific new zones dedicated to important product and business areas for the Building Trade.

In addition to Commercial Vehicles and Tools, the principal featured zones at Interbuild Onsite now include Kitchens and Bathrooms, Painting and Decorating and Finishing, Installer (plumbing, heating and electrical), Flooring, an FMB Zone (Federation of Master Builders) and an Outdoor area for specialist construction site equipment, such as, bulldozers, excavators and scaffolding.

They will also provide focused opportunities for relevant workshops, tests and educations sessions.

Hormann load the Royal Mail

Hormann has completed an integrated installation for the Royal Mail at their new distribution centre at Swan Valley Northampton. Working closely with the main contractor Winvic, Hormann have project managed the installation of 23 loading bays with heavy duty dock levellers, dock shelters, sectional insulated loading bay doors, high speed bi-parting doors and high security doors.

The garage door industry as a whole seems to have stopped declining.

The retail sector did not collapse like the New Build Sector.

The retail sector is down between 5% and 20% depending on geographical area.

The new build sector is starting to open sites that have been closed for 18 months or more, which is very encouraging.

SWR came to the rescue on Thursday 15th April.......We received an urgent call to supply wire rope and components to be used as a tight rope for an event at Wembley Stadium that same evening.

Graham Courtney who dealt with the enquiry commented-"We were contacted at 4pm on Thursday 15th April and I was asked whether we could get material over to Wembley Stadium in time for an event that evening"

Not one to duck a challenge we started work immediately and we're pleased to say the job was completed successfully and on time and the client was more than happy. Thanks to the efforts of Michael in our factory and the quick thinking and organisation of Graham. Excellent job!

SWR Garage Doors made it into the final of the Apsley Senior Cup with a win over their big league rivals. We saw off Martin Baker Rovers in the semi final on Saturday 27th February having been knocked out of the Watford Peace Hospital Memorial Shield.

RSM Bentley Jennison is pleased to announce the sale of Cardale Doors Group, for an undisclosed sum, on 18 August preserving over 400 jobs.

Simon Thomas and Fred Satow, partners in RSM Bentley Jennison & Co LLP, were appointed Joint Administrators over the principal operating companies of the Cardale Group Limited (The ‘Group’), either wholly or partially owned by it, on 14 July 2009.

The combined business, which manufactures 45% of garage doors in the UK, comprises Wessex Garage Doors Ltd, Cardale Doors Ltd and Bowburn Limited, has been sold as a going concern. Over 400 jobs are preserved at sites including Luton, Verwood, Dorset, Brackley, Scunthorpe, Bowburn and Durham.

Simon Thomas, Joint Administrator said, "We are extremely pleased to have been successful in selling the businesses as a going concern, which is in the employees’ best interests and maximises the potential return for the creditors, ultimately also safeguarding the jobs of over 400 workers.’
